UGC NET 2018 Notification Issued by CBSE; JRF Age Limit Increased & Third Paper Scrapped

    The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon release the UGC NET 2018 Notification on the official site of CBSE. As per certain reports the notification is likely to come out on 01 February 2018 and will be available on cbse.nic.in.

    This year, the CBSE UGC NET 2018 notification will witness some drastic changes in the examination pattern and age limit. As per sources, the upper age limit of JRF has been increased from 28 years to 30 years. The age relaxation rules remain the same. Apart from this, the exam pattern also receives the changes and will comprise of two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will carry 100 marks and will have 50 questions carrying 2 marks each, while Paper 2 will carry 200 marks in total and consist of 100 compulsory questions of 2 marks each. The time duration of Paper 1 is 01 hour and for Paper II, 2 hours has been allotted. 

    All these changes have been welcomed by the Teaching community along with demand of introduction of negative marking in NET. The National Forum for Quality Education Mumbai will request the HRD Ministry and UGC to include negative marking like CAT, CSIR-NET, and GATE.

    The online application process of CBSE UGC NET 2018 will commence from 06 March 2018 and will dissolve on 05 April 2018. The examination will be held on 08 July 2018.
