Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL), a Joint Venture company with equity participation from Govt of India and Govt of Tamil Nadu has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. It invites applications from eligible candidates for the course mentioned below

• Last date for receipt of filled in application forms: 20 April 2012
• Display of short listed candidates for interview and date of interview: 2 May 2012
• Date of admission: 25 July 2012
• Commencement of course: 1 August 2012

Eligibility Conditions for Admission in IIT Madras

Educational Qualification: First-class graduates with minimum aggregate average of 70% marks (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Architecture from a recognised University/ Institute are eligible to apply. The candidates should have qualified in GATE 2011 or 2012. Final year students who will secure the eligible degree before the commencement of the course can also apply

Age Limit (as on 31 July 2012): Maximum 28 years

Selection Procedure for Admission in IIT Madras

The candidates short listed based on the GATE score and qualifying examination will be called for a test/ interview which will be conducted at IIT Madras in coordination with CMRL. Final selection will be subject to medical fitness

Application Fee: Rs 300 for General & OBC candidates (Rs 50 for SC/ ST candidates) drawn in favour of CHENNAI METRO RAIL LIMITED, payable at Chennai indicating on the reverse of the DD, their name, address and telephone no., if any
