Competition Commission of India (CCI) invites entries from school, college and University level students for National Level Essay Competition 2012. Students can send their entries in respective categories with a scanned copy of Student Identity Card by 30 June 2012. The result of the winners will be published on CCI's website in the third week of August 2012.
As per Competition Commission of India notification, the students will be divided across 3 categories namely Category A for students of class 11 and 12; Category B for undergraduate students; and Category C for students pursuing PG/ including Post Graduate Diplomas/ MPhil/ PhD/ CA/ CWA/ CS/ MBA.
Topics for Essay
The topic for students participating in Category A (Word limit- 750 to 1500 words) is Benefits of Fair Competition in markets OR Role of CCI in promoting and sustaining competition. Students participating in Category B and C (Word limit- 1500 to 3000 words) need to write on either Competition: A potent tool for Economic Development and Socio-Economic Welfare OR Competition in markets promotes economic efficiency.
The essay should be typed on a A4 size electronic page with font size of 12 points (English) in Times New Roman, 1.5 interlinear space, and margins of 2.54 cm on top, bottom and both sides.
Assessing Essay
The candidates will be assessed on the basis of originality of content (65%), Clarity (15%), structure (10%), and overall impression (10%). The quality of language will not be a decisive factor, as long as the text retains its clarity and coherence.
