Delhi University Medical/ Dental Entrance Test (DUMET 2011)
Conducted By: Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi. (Only in Delhi)
Purpose: For admission at Bachelor's level in the medical and dental courses (MBBS and BDS) in the University of Delhi.
DU Colleges that offer MBBS: Lady Hardinge Medical College, Maulana Azad Medical College (also offers BDS) and University College of Medical Sciences. MBBS is also offered by Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
No. of Seats: 373. For MBBS, it’s LHMC-98, MAMC-147 and UCMS -128 , For BDS, its 34 seats in MAIDS (Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences)
Cost of Form: Rs. 750 (Also available online)
Eligibility Criteria: Class 12 Pass with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Also, the school must be within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Date of Examination: 22 May, 2011
Deadline for Application Submission: 7 March, 2011
Selection Process: Each candidate is supposed to take an entrance test
Duration of Paper: 3 hours
No. of Questions: 200 (Physics – 50, Chemistry – 50, Biology – 50 and Zoology – 50).
Type of Questions: Objective type questions
Any Negative Marking? Yes. +4 will be awarded for every correct answer and -1 for every incorrect one.
Based on the test and a personal interview, candidates will be selected and allotted seats in accordance with their rank and the number of seats available.
