University of Delhi has begun registrations for Undergraduate courses at all departments from May 15, 2018 in online mode. This year, the students seeking admissions to UG courses through Merit based and Entrance Exams can fill same application form for DU Admissions 2018. Admission for the sport quota is expected to begin by the end of the third week of June. As we know that the online graduation process will be closed by June 7, so, the sport quota admission will start after the same. According to varsity officials, sports trials would last for about 10 to12 days

Under this category, sports trial carries 60 per cent weightage while 40 per cent weightage is given to sport certificates. This year, sports category applicants are required to upload three best certificates instead of only one.

This admission trails will be conducted separately for ale and females under various disciplines. About 60 trails would be conducted for 33 sports categories of games.

“After the closure of registration process, sports certificates uploaded by the aspirants would be evaluated for marks. Then these marks would be uploaded on the individual Dashboard provided to the students,” said a DU official.

After this students can file their grievances and objections in any and the same are required to redressed by the concerned DU officials. This whole process is expected to last for 10 days.

Also for admissions under the sports quota this year,  candidates who have only participation certificate at state or district level sports event, are not eligible, rather those candidates who have secured some rank/position (either I, II, III) at district or state level sports competition would be eligible to apply under the sports quota.

It may be noted that under sports quota, DU grants admission broadly under four categories

    1. International,

    2. National

    3. State and

    4. District.

Both position/rank and participation are considered for admissions under international and national category while for the state and district level only position/rank is considered.
