Q: I want to apply for UGC NET Examination to be conducted in December. What is the examination fee and how should I pay for it?
A: Candidates applying for UGC NET which will be conducted on 30 December 2012 should note that the examination fee for General candidate is Rs 450 whereas the fee for Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC) is Rs 225. Candidates belonging to SC or ST or PWD category have to submit Rs 110. Candidates need to download bank challan available on the UGC NET website and then fill the bank challan form in triplicate (Bank Copy, UGC Copy & Candidate’s Copy).
Candidates should then submit all the three copies of the challan form in any branch of State Bank of India along with the bank charges (commission) of Rs 20. The Bank will keep its copy and the other two copies will be returned to the candidate. Candidates should retain his/ her copy of bank challan and UGC copy must be attached with the printout of online Application Form which he/she has to submit to the Registrar or Principal of UGC-NET Coordinating University/College opted by the candidate.
Candidates are requested not to submit fee through any other payment mode like money order, demand draft, IPO etc. as these are not accepted by UGC. No fee will be will be refunded under any circumstances, once paid.
