Faculty of Allied Health Sciences: A modernized Health Environment

SGT (Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary) University, Gurugram, has come a long way. It came into existence by the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act No. 8 of 2013 creating academic opportunities out there to any or all segments of the society.

SGT offers multidimensional and multi-disciplinary courses in Faculties of Allied Science, Medical Science, Behavioral Science, Indian Medical System, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Commerce and Management, Education, Engineering and Technology, Fashion & Design, Hotel & Tourism Management, Law, Mass Comm. & Media Technology.

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences under SGT University came into inception in 2013. Allied Health Professionals are a distinct group of professionals who are important to the medical profession. As they apply their expertise to cater to the tremendous growth of professionals in the health care industry. Many committees and experts have highlighted the importance of paramedics in health care delivery in the past, including the National Knowledge Commission. It is placed more importance on producing more paramedical professionals than doctors, despite the acknowledged scarcity of the latter. There is a supply-demand gap of about 63 lakh Allied Health Professionals as per the GOI resources.

Allied health Sciences has become a relevant part of the society where SGT gives full support and guidance to the students. The faculties here are well qualified and experienced in their respective field for overall grooming of the students. Further, to make students aware of the latest trends in their own fields of specialization and to enhance their career opportunities, The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, organizes workshops, guest lectures and Industrial visits for the students. There is an increased focus on research activities and in adopting new teaching methodologies. The University has tied up with various corporate hospitals like BL Kapoor Hospital, Columbia Asia Hospital, Paras Hospital, etc, where students are trained under the supervision of specialized team for corporate placements in addition to their in-house training in our 700 bedded hospitals.
