Indian Council of Social Science Research Award of doctoral fellowship is provided for two years. This PhD program is being run in a total of 33 institutions of the ICSSR. ICSSR was established in the year 1969. An autonomous body works under Ministry of Human Resources. It is engaged in a variety of works, such as, sponsoring social science research programs/ projects, encouraging individuals and institutions by providing grants for research in the field of social science, providing financial aid to study groups, and organizing seminars and workshops in the field of research.
Eligibility
Following are some of the necessary eligibility conditions for this doctoral fellowship award- postgraduate degree in social science with minimum 55 percent marks, having cleared NET or National Ability Test (junior research fellowship/ lectureship/ M Phil), or two research articles have been published in some reputed social sciences journal and registered in a PhD program.
Maximum age limit for applying for the fellowship is 35 years. Reserved category candidates can get relaxation in the maximum age limit as per government rules. Maximum age limit for a candidate already serving on a regular job (regular post) is 45 years.
Scholarships and Facilities
Selected candidates are given a stipend of 6 thousand rupees per month. Candidates who have not cleared NET are granted only five thousand rupees.
