Making commutation a bit easier and more convenient for school students, Eastern Central Railway has announced free monthly passes for students up to class 10. The scheme will be made available to students of BSEB, CBSE and ICSE boards, travelling by unreserved second class.
The aim of this monthly railway pass provision is to help the rural students who travel daily to nearby urban centers and towns for schooling. However this scheme is also applicable Post graduation students, degree college students and junior college under other Railway schemes.
For availing the benefits of this Railway schemes, students are required to fulfill certain important criteria. The first and foremost requirement for getting the pass is having a valid Id proof, issued by the board or school administration or the university, whichever is applicable. Students are required to apply at the Principal’s office for the free pass and the copy of the application is to be forwarded to the Railway authority for the completion of the procedure.
Students are required to renew their passes every month.
