- Union Government on 12 November 2014 constituted a high-level Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) to ensure smooth allocation of 204 cancelled coal blocks. The committee will provide advise on policy issues and interact with the industry.
- International Finance Corp (IFC) arm of World Bank on 11 November 2014 issued 10 billion rupee Masala bond to fund infrastructure development.
- Reserve Bank of India on 10 November 2014 tightened its norms for Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) by requiring them to have a much stronger capital base. Failing to which, the NBFCs would lose their CoR (Certificate of Registration). NBFCs have been given time till March 2017 to comply with the norms.
- Bollywood Actor Farhan Akhtar was on 14 November 2014 appointed as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia. Farhan is the first male ever to be chosen as a Goodwill Ambassador in the organization’s history.

- Toyota Motor Corp on 12 November 2014 announced to recall around 361800 vehicles world-wide. These include Hiace vans from Japan, Camry sedan from Japan and Europe and Crown Majesta from Japan.
- China’s online retail giant, Alibaba on 11 November 2014 made the record of earning 9.3 billion US dollars in sales on a single day. Alibaba achieved the staggering figure on Singles Day shopping event which celebrates the bachelorhood of Young single Chinese.
- E-commerce giant Amazon on 11 November 2014 proposed a plan to Union Government to allow it to use new technologies such as real-time tracking and monitoring devices on the India Post network to develop a delivery mechanism based on smart logistics.
- The largest online retailer of India Flipkart on 12 November 2014 appointed two new members Rishi Vasudev and P Balakrishnan as Vice President.

- Baiji in Iraq was in news because Iraqi authorities on 14 November 2014 claimed that Government forces have recaptured the strategic northern town of Baiji from Islamic State for Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants. The force has also lifted siege of the oil refinery.
- European Space Agency’s (ESA) Rosetta mission landed its Philae probe on the surface of Comet 67P/ Churyumov–Gerasimenko on 12 November 2014. The landing site has been named as Agilkia and is located on the head of the bizarre double-lobed object.
- World Pneumonia Day was observed across world on 12 November 2014 with theme: Universal access to pneumonia prevention and care. The day was observed to create awareness about pneumonia.
- World Health Organisation (WHO) on 12 November 2014 released Guidelines for Indoor Air Quality: Household Fuel Combustion. These guidelines are the first-ever guidelines released by WHO highlighting the threat of burning fossil fuels in home.
- 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit was held in Beijing, China on 9 November 2014- 11 November 2014. The summit was held under the theme of Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership.
