Department of Forestry, Wildlife & Environmental Sciences, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur invited applications for recruitment to 4 posts of Research Associate (RA), Junior Research Fellow (JRF), and Field Assistant on temporary basis for a period of two years. The vacancies are for a Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India sponsored project entitled ‘Assessment of Air Pollutants and Its Impact on Tropical Forests of Northern Chhattisgarh’. Name of the Project: ‘Assessment of Air Pollutants and Its Impact on Tropical Forests of Northern Chhattisgarh’ sponsored by Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India

I. Name of the Post and No of posts:

Research Associate (RA): 1 post

Junior Research Fellow (JRF):2 posts

Field Assistant: 1 post

(The posts are co-terminus with the project)

II. Age limit: (as on 1 September 2013):

For RA: 35 years;

For JRF: 28 years;

For Field Assistant: 30 years;

For the posts of RA and JRF, the upper age limit is relax-able up to 5 years for SC / ST / Women / PH / OBC candidates

III. Remuneration:

For RA:  Rs. 16000 per month + HRA;

For JRF: Rs. 12000 per month + HRA;

For Field Assistant: Rs. 6000 per month (consolidated)

(likely to be revised to Rs. 22000per month + HRA (for RA) and Rs. 16000 per month + HRA (for JRF) at new rate).
IV. Qualifications:

For RA: Ph. D. in Forestry / Forestry, Wildlife & Environmental Sciences / Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering / Botany (Specialization with Forest Ecology / Environmental Impact Assessment);

For JRF: M.Sc. in Forestry / Forestry, Wildlife & Environmental Sciences / Environmental Science / Botany / M. Tech. Environmental Science & Engineering + qualified NET;

(If NET qualified candidates are unavailable then non-NET candidates will be considered; they will be treated as Junior Project Fellow (JPF) with Rs. 10000 per month).

For Field Assistant: B. Sc.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.

Only short-listed candidates will be called for Interview. They will be intimated about the Interview Date in due course.

Travel Allowance: Candidates called for Interview will be paid 2nd class Rail fare as TA.
