Section-A

1. What were the main features of Civil Rebellions prior to 1857? Are they comparable to the Revolution of 1857?  40

2. "The Nineteenth Century reform movements improved the condition of Hindu women." Critically examine this statement.  40

3. Discuss the role of "Revolutionaries' in the Indian National Movement with special reference to Subhash Chandra Bose.  40

4. Write critical notes on any two of the following :

(a) Mahalwari System.   20

(b) Significances of the 'Quit India Movement'.   20

(c) Significance of Hindi Cinema as a form of Modern Art.  20

(d) Main principles of the Panchasheel.  20

5. Discuss the effects of the American Revolution (War of Independence).  40

6. Analyze the causes of the rise of Fascism in Europe. What were its results?  40

7. Examine the causes and results of the Second World War.  40

8. Discuss the causes of the Chinese Revolution of 1949 and also point out its impact on the world politics.   40
