Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIGM), Navi Mumbai, an Autonomous Scientific Research Organisation under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is a premier research organization having strong research programs in Geomagnetism and allied fields.
The Institute issued notification inviting applications for filling up 4 vacancies with various posts at the Headquarters or at any of the Regional Centresof the Institute -- Allahabad or Tirunelveli and Observatories across India. Eligibility Criterion
Maximum Agelimit: 40 years
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Geophysics /Applied Geophysics /Exploration Geophysics with Research experience of at least five years in relevant subject.Ph.D. in Solid Earth studies with Seismology background.
2. Technical Officer - I: 1 post
Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4600
Eligibility Criterion
Maximum Agelimit: 30 years
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Geophysics / Geology with 2 yea experience of working in the relevant field in a reputed Research Laboratory / Institute/ University. Knowledge and experience in any one of the following: a) Geomagnetism and related fields b) GIS and geophysical potential fields is desirable.
3. Technical Assistant (Library): 1 post
Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2800
Eligibility Criterion
Maximum Agelimit: 28 years
Qualifications: B. Lib. Science with B.Sc. degree
4. Stenographer (Grade III): 1 post
Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2400
Eligibility Criterion
Maximum Agelimit: 27 years
Qualifications: SSC with minimum shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. and typing speed of 40 w.p.m. Good command overEnglishis essential.
Good Knowledge of MS Office and proficiency in computer application is desirable.

Application Fees: Non-refundable application fee of Rs.100 is to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, New Panvel’.
SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates should send their duly filled in application forms along with fee DD in original ( if required) to ‘The Registrar, Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Plot No. 5, Sector 18, Kalamboli Highway, New Panvel, Navi Mumbai- 410 218’ so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 5 May 2014.
How to Obtain Application Form: Application form can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.iigm.res.in OR obtained from the office of the Registrar in person -- between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on all working days –after presenting the application fee DD OR through post by sending an application requesting for the form alongwith the application feeDD and a self-addressed stamped envelope of Rs.10 super-scribing “Request for Application Form”.
Application form will be issued free of cost to SC/ ST candidates, on production of valid caste certificate.
Candidates using downloaded application form should submit the fee DD with the filled application form.
