Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has completed the final placements within 3 days for the PGDM batch of 2017. The highest domestic package was Rs 70 lakh per annum, whereas the highest international package amounted to 90,000 Euros (Rs 63 lakh approx) per annum. On this achievement the B-School spokesperson has commented “The entire process was completed, with 100 per cent placement for the batch within record three days, in the second week of February. There were total 474 top notch offers including significant number of international offers.”
In the placement rounds a total of 474 offers were extended. Finance sector made the maximum number of offers with top corporate brands namely Avendus, Edelweiss, Goldman Sachs, HSBC etc trying to tap in the pool of talent from IIM Calcutta. Consulting sector emerged as the second highest recruiter contributing to 22 per cent of the total offers made. Top recruiters such as Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG, and McKinsey extended the offers to the IIM-C graduates. While General Management firms such as ABG, CK Birla and TAS made 15 per cent offers in the total placements. Sales and marketing roles contributed to 12 per cent of the total offers with reputed brands such as HUL, ITC, P&G, and Reckitt Benckiser roping in for hiring the talented visionaries. In addition, e-commerce and IT firms also contributed to 14 per cent of the total offers, with companies like Amazon and Wipro.
