Aadhar card has been made mandatory by CBSE for filling online application of JEE Main 2017. The application process has started from 1st December and will close on 2nd Janaury. Exam will be held on 2nd April 2017.
Putting yet another rider for engineering aspirants, the CBSE has made Aadhar card mandatory for registering for JEE Main 2017 exam. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has in a surprise move announced that engineering aspirants vying to apply for the IIT-JEE Main 2017 Exam will have to provide their Aadhar Card number to register for the toughest engineering entrance exam of the country.
As per the notification provided on the website jeemain.nic.in, the CBSE confirmed the news stating that "All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)-2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI's data. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)-2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be."
Keeping the latest news in mind, all engineering aspirants who are planning to apply for JEE Main 2017 but do not possess Aadhar Card are requested to apply for it as soon as possible. Even those engineering candidates who possess their Aadhar Card are requested to cross-verify all the details in accordance with their school certificates and marksheets. Any mistakes or wrong information must be corrected in the Aadhar card before registering for the JEE Main 2017.
Apart from this news, the CBSE has also notified tentative dates for JEE Main 2017 engineering entrance examination. As per the latest update, CBSE will release a detailed notification regarding JEE Main 2017 registration process on 1st December 2017 and the online registration for JEE Main 2017 will conclude on 2nd January 2017. The JEE Main 2017 Exam will be held on 2nd April 2017.
This year, 6 new states have joined the JEE Main 2017 programmes; these include Odisha, Gujarat, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Therefore, engineering aspirants seeking admission to top engineering colleges in these states will also have to apply for and clear JEE Main 2017 in order to secure their engineering seat.
