Established in 1969, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the primary body for space research under the control of the Government of India, and one of the big six advanced space research organizations that dominate space. It invites application from eligible candidates for recruitment as Junior Hindi Translator.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • MA in Hindi/ English with English/ Hindi as a compulsory/ elective subject or as medium of examination at Degree level. OR
  • MA in any subject with Hindi and English as compulsory/ elective subjects or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/ elective subject at Degree level. OR
  • MA in any subject with Hindi/ English medium and English/ Hindi as a compulsory/ elective subject or as medium of examination at Degree level. OR
  • Bachelor`s Degree with Hindi and English as compulsory/ elective subjects or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/ elective subject plus a recognized Diploma Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central/ State Govt Offices, including Government of India undertakings.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 18 August 2011

Pay Scale: Rs 9300- 34800 with Grade Pay 4200. Gross emoluments at the minimum of the Pay Band are Rs 20,400 excluding allowances like HRA, Transport Allowance etc.

Selection Procedure: The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test. Based on bio-data, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for taking-up written test.

Candidates short-listed based on the performance in the written test will be called for interview, the schedule and venue of which will be intimated.

Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second class train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of interview.

Download the application format from the ISRO website http://www.isro.org/.  The duly filled in application, affixing a recent passport size colour photograph at the place provided in the application, along with attested copies of all certificates/ testimonials may be sent to Sr. Administrative Officer, ISRO Headquarters, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore- 560 231 super scribing on the envelope "Application for the post of Junior Hindi Translator". The application should reach ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore.
