Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), a premier institute pursuing research in the Physics and Technologies of Plasmas, issued notification inviting online applications from Engineers and Physicists for the one-year Technical Trainee Program- 2014. Interested candidates should apply online through IPR website till 13 May 2014 and send the print-out of the online submitted application to the Institute so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 20 June 2014.

Name of the Program: Technical Trainee Program- 2014
Duration of the program: One year
Stipend: Rs.16000 per month
Discipline wise program details: Candidates can apply in one of the following three disciplines.
1. Physics
Discipline Code: 10
Qualifying Degree: M.Sc. in Physics/ Applied Physics after B.Sc OR an Integrated M.Sc., BE/B.Tech. in Engineering Physics.
2. Mechanical
Discipline Code: 20
Qualifying Degree: BE/ B.Tech./ B.Sc.-Engg. (Mechanical Engineering) or Integrated M.Tech (5 years) or AMIE
3. Electrical
Discipline Code: 30
Qualifying Degree: BE/ B.Tech./ B.Sc.-Engg. (Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering,) or Integrated M.Tech (5 years) or AMIE.
Age Limit: 26 years

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test/ Interview.
The written test is scheduled to be conducted on 20 July 2014 at 5 centers: Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Chennai. Only eligible candidates shortlisted from valid candidates will be called for written test.
Hall ticket for the test will be available on IPR website from 4 July 2014.
List of candidates shortlisted for interview on the basis of their performance in the written test will be declared tentatively on 28 July 2014. The Interview of these candidates will be held tentatively between 11 and 14 August 2014.
Appointment: On successful completion of the training, the trainees will be appointed as Scientist/ Engineer–SC at IPR with a Basic Pay of Rs.21000 in Pay Band– 3 (Rs.15600-39100) with Grade Pay of Rs.5400 (Gross Pay of Rs.46200 pm)
Travel Allowance: Out-station candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper class/ second class to and fro Rail/ bus fare on production of ticket/ proof of journey.
Application fee: Non-refundable Application fee of Rs.200 (General and OBC candidates) is to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Institute for Plasma Research’ payable at Gandhinagar.

On successful submission of the online application, an Application ID will be generated by the system. Candidates should take a printout of the form with Application ID mentioned on it and send it along with a recent passport size photograph , fee DD in original and copies of required testimonials/ certificates to ‘the Acting Chief Admin Officer, Institute for Plasma Research, near Indira Bridge, Gandhinagar Highway Bhat, Gandhinagar – 382 428’ so as to reach the IPR office on or before 20 June 2014.
On the envelope candidates should super-scribe ‘Advt. No.’ and ‘Name of the post Applied for’.
