Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) invited applications from the permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir State for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor in various disciplines in the Government Degree Colleges of the State.

The candidates possessing the prescribed academic qualification and age for the posts can send applications on prescribed form on or before 02 July 2014.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 1 January 2014)

  • Minimum: 18 Years
  • Maximum: 37 Years

Education Qualification

  • Ph.D. degree holders (who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September 1991) with at least 55% marks {50%, excluding any grace marks, in case of scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and Visually differently abled) Categories} or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
  • The candidate must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC, CSIR/AIU.
  • The candidate who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and procedure for Award of Ph.D degree regulations), 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
  • NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

How to Apply

Candidates can obtained Application Forms from the office of the J&K Public Service Commission, Polo Ground Srinagar/Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu on cash payment of 500/- (excluding processing charges of Rs.10/) in respect of General Category candidates and 250/- (excluding processing charges of 10/-)in respect of Category candidates through the counters of J&K Bank opened in the offices of J&K Public Service Commission at Polo Ground, Srinagar/Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm on all working days from 02 June 2014.

Completed online Application Forms must reach the Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission, Polo Ground, Srinagar/Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu on or before the last date i.e 02 July 2014 in an envelope provided by the Commission along with the Application Form
