PhD students are always in need of financial support. This prestigious JMNF (Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund) scholarship scheme can be very helpful for them. Every year JNMF announces scholarship schemes, not only for Indian students but for students of other Asian countries also. This scholarship is awarded for a period of two years and is very useful for those students who are Meritorious but whose financial condition is not good.
Scholarships and Facilities
Students qualifying under this scholarship scheme are granted a monthly stipend of Rs 9000. In addition, 12000 rupees are given annually for contingency and miscellaneous expenditures.
Eligibility
Following are some of the necessary eligibility conditions for JNMF scholarship: A first class degree in post graduation.
Age should be less than 35 years.
Must be registered in a full-time PhD course in any Indian university or institution at the time of application.

Application Procedure
Application forms can be obtained from Administrative Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi-110011. A nominal charge of rupees fifty has to be deposited, either in cash or by postal order. Postal orders should be in the name of Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund and payable in New Delhi. Following must be attached with the application:
• Passport size photographs
• Certified copy of PhD registration / admission letter of college or university
• A synopsis of 1500 words or 3 pages
• Report of University doctoral monitoring committee or supervisors report
• Certified copies of all educational certificates and mark sheets
