There’s a huge buzz going around regarding GATE 2017. The examination will be held on 04, 05, 11 & 12 February 2017. It’s going to be a hectic time for engineering graduates. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is considered to be the gateway for many leading PSU jobs.

Therefore, engineering graduates who aspire for government jobs must prepare well and crack the GATE 2017 in order to get jobs in leading PSUs.
Many PSUs have started intake process for trainee post. Therefore alongside GATE preparation, candidates should apply for these govt jobs.
PSU jobs through GATE 2017 will open up employment opportunities for many graduates. Vacancies will be notified (many have started notifying of it!) in all the major disciplines. Hence it can be said equal job opportunity will be available for aspirants of every stream.
Who can apply using GATE 2017 score?
Engineering graduates, with degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, electronics and telecommunications, etc who have qualified the GATE 2017 will be eligible to apply against the government jobs. Candidates are required to have valid GATE score on the crucial date of eligibility will be considered for shortlisting for recruitment.
Though GATE 2017 will mandatory for PSUs and other government bodies, still each of the recruiting body will have its own cut off and selection process. Candidates are therefore suggested to go through the selection procedure of each of the organizations in detail before applying.

GATE 2017: Upcoming Government Jobs
Taking the trend of previous years into consideration, almost every PSU will recruit eligible candidates through GATE 2017.
After the declaration of GATE result, employment notifications are likely to come up from leading PSUs like BHEL, DRDO, RITES, IRCON, Coal India, NHAI, etc.
About GATE 2017
IIT Roorkee will conduct GATE 2017 on 04, 05, 11 & 12 February 2017. Admissions to postgraduate programs (Master’s and Ph.D.) with MHRD and other Government Scholarships/Assistantships in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science are open to those who qualify in GATE.
The examination will be computer based only. The validity of the score will be for three years.
The application process has begun. Candidates can submit their applications till 04 October 2016. The application fee is Rs 750 for women candidates, Rs 750 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates and Rs 1500 for all other candidates. For International candidates application fee is US $50.
The GATE 2017 shall also be held for candidates in other countries such as, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Details can be found at gate.iitr.ernet.in.
