Many aspirants find the interview round of government jobs challenging and burdensome. Some clear Prelims and Mains but fail to clear the final interview round. Since we know interviews test personality and communication skills, they act as an extra filter to choose the best candidates.

However, some government exams do not conduct interviews and instead hold only written tests, physical assessments, or skill-based evaluations. Such tests are suitable for candidates who do not like personality assessments but instead prefer objective and descriptive tests.

Here are five government exams that do not require an interview:

1. RRB Group D Exam

This is a railway job without any interview. Railway Recruitment Board conducts RRB Group D exam in order to select candidates for nontechnical posts such as Track Maintainer, Assistant Pointsman, and Helpers in the various departments of the railway.

Selection Process

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT): You need to clear general awareness test, mathematics, reasoning, and science.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Tests physical fitness.
  • Document Verification: Verifies educational qualifications and identity proof.

2. SSC MTS Exam

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) exam recruits candidates for non-gazetted Group C posts in different government departments. These jobs include clerical and support work such as file management, record-keeping, and office assistance.

Selection Process:

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT): Includes general awareness, numerical ability, reasoning, and English.
  • Descriptive Paper: This one tried for writing skills.
  • Document verification: Addresses credentials before final selection.

3. SSC GD Constable Exam

This recruitment test for constables is for paramilitary forces such as CRPF, BSF, CISF, and SSB. Applicants who are interested in joining the armed forces can appear for this test without the fear of an interview.

Selection Procedure:

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT)– General intelligence, reasoning, numerical ability, and general knowledge will be tested.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): It will test the level of fitness.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates are evaluated to ensure that they meet health standards for military service.

4. RRB NTPC Exam (For Some Posts)

Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories NTPC exam. The exam conducts various posts for the railway sectors. Some jobs require interviews; however, other jobs such as Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, Trains Clerk, Accounts Clerk, and Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk are not required for interviews.

Selection Process:

  • Stage 1 CBT: Mathematics, reasoning, and general awareness.
  • Stage 2 CBT: Once again, a round of objective questions.
  • Typing Test (For Typist Roles): Testing the typing speed.
  • Document Verification & Medical Checkup: Final screening.

5. UPSC EPFO Assistant Exam

The UPSC conducts the EPFO Assistant Exam for appointing clerical, and other administrative positions to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation's employees.

Selection Process:

  • Preliminary Exam: Objective-type questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and English.
  • Mains Exam: The thorough test for reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and English.
  • Document Verification: Final stage before appointment.
