Among the key highlights of MDI Gurgaon MBA Placement 2018, the key is the rise in the average salary being offered the students and including international salary packages of Rs.55 lakhs per annum. Student Profile

Sharing the MBA Placement Report, the B-school has notified that the outgoing batch of 2016-2018 which consisted of 331 students participated in the placement process. Of the total, 240 students were from the flagship PGPM programme, 59 students from the PGP-HRM programme and 32 from the PGP-IM programme.

Recruiters Profiles

As far recruiters profile is concerned, MDI Gurgaon saw 119 companies participate in the placement sessions to hire 331 management graduates walking out of the campus this year. Companies from different functions, domains and industries, such as, Consulting, General Management, Finance, Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Operations and HR, participated in the placement process.

A number of startups also visited campus to hire MBA graduates for niche roles. In total, around 28 first time recruiters also participated in the placement programme. These included known names from the corporate world like Abbott, BMW, Cisco, Jubilant FoodWorks, MARS, Moody’s Analytics, Ola Cabs, OYO Rooms, PUMA and Walmart.

Average Salary continues to rise

As stated above, the MDI Gurgaon MBA Placement 2018 saw almost all the placement statistics move in the positive direction. The average salary offered to the management students, spanning across all the three courses, stood at Rs 19.17 lakhs.  Last year, the average salary registered was Rs 18.89 lakhs. Average salary for top 20% in Placement 2018 stood at Rs. 25.91 lakhs. Highest Salary Offered

Similar to the average salary offered, the highest domestic salary and highest international salary offered at MDI Gurgaon MBA Placements also saw increment. The highest international salary package was offered by Tolaram Group and Godrej which was recorded at Rs 55 lakhs per annum. This year, the highest domestic salary offered to PGPM programme student stood at Rs. 35 lakhs as against Rs. 28.74 LPA last year. Similarly, for PGP-HRM programme, the highest salary was Rs 24 lakhs whereas the PGP-IM programme saw highest salary at Rs 24.45 lakhs.

Number of PPOs offered also rise

Similar to the average salary and highest salary offered, the number of PPOs or the Pre-Placement Offers being extended to the students also rose to 108 from 100 in 2016. The increase in PPOs is an indication of the trust and faith that the industry leaders have on the quality of management education being offered at MDI Gurgaon.

Sector-wise breakup of the offers

Taking another step towards becoming the prime destination for recruiters to hire candidates in sales and marketing roles, MDI Gurgaon 2018 MBA Placements witnessed industry leaders from this domain participate in the placement process. Apart from sales and marketing, even general management and strategy level roles also dominated the placement process this year.

Sales & Marketing: Sales and Marketing accounted for 32% of the total share of the placement offers made at MDI Gurgaon MBA Placement 2018. Industry leaders from this domain such as AB InBev, Abbott, Godrej Industries, ITC, L'Oréal, Pidilite Industries and Vodafone participated in the placement process. As far as international placements go, Godrej Industries and Tolaram Group offered sales and marketing roles to the students at overseas destinations.

Other recruiters which offered roles in sales and marketing include: ABFRL Airtel AkzoNobel Arvind Lifestyle, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Bennett Coleman & Co,  BMW, Cipla, Coca-Cola, Crompton Greaves, Dabur, GlaxoSmithKline Pharma, Google, ITC, Kohler, Lava International, Maruti Suzuki, Nivea, Novartis, OYO Rooms, Philips India, Tata Motors and Tata Steel.

General Management & Strategy: This year, MDI Gurgaon saw aggressive participation from firms who specialize in General Management & Strategy level roles. Major conglomerates such as Godrej Industries, Hinduja Group, Reliance Industries Limited and RPG Group hired management graduates for roles in this domain. For strategy driven roles, corporate leaders like Accenture Strategy, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC and Boeing made offers to the students.

Other key recruiters in General Management & Strategy related roles include: Airtel, Bain Capability Center, Cognizant, McKinsey, Eli Lilly, EY GDS, Gartner, i3 Consulting, IBM, Infosys, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, KPMG and Tata Communications.

BFSI / Finance: Finance is another sector that has been considered to be a highlight as far as MBA Placement at MDI Gurgaon is concerned. Students were offered a diverse array of roles in the BFSI field such as Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking and Wealth Management.
