National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will publish a series called ‘Veergatha’ to celebrate the contribution of real heroes. This decision was taken on the 52nd general council meeting of NCERT that was chaired by HRD minister Smriti Irani and was attended by state education ministers and eminent academicians.
As per Irani, the book should emphasis on the lives of the person who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation. The book should be constructed in consultation with the defense ministry of the nation. Also the book will have special mention of the women achievers and freedom fighters of the nation.
The meeting ended with Irani’s call for suggestions on the new education policy by the states and the stakeholders. She also has asked NCERT to consult and discuss on the new education policy held along with the curriculum with the states. This exercise is likely to get completed by August and report submission by September 2015.
