NIT Patna to facilitate the process of seat allotment through CSAB-2015

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna will facilitate the process for allotment of seats through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) to the JEE (Main) meritorious students for the academic year 2015 - 2016. The decision was made after the eighth meeting of the Council of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), conducted on 25 September 2014. CSAB-2015 has been constituted with Dr. Asok De, Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna (Bihar) as the Chairman and the Directors of all the remaining 29 NITs, 12 IIITs and other CFTIs as the members. In addition, nominee of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and nominee of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi will also be the members of CSAB.
For admission in NITs, CFTIs and IIITs and other participating institutes, the merit/rank list will be prepared on the basis of Class 12th board marks and JEE (Main) marks of the applicant in the ratio of 40:60, respectively. The weightage to school Board / Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization. CSAB-2015 will be responsible to filling up the seats in the participating Institutions, according to the prepared merit list.

CSAB will be responsible for listed tasks:

  • Finalization of procedure and schedule for seat allocation
  • Setting up of help and resource centres
  • Printing and Release of Information brochure along with designing of on-line choice filling forms
  • Website Maintenance
  • Collection and Distribution of online seat choices
  • Strategical Preparation of Certificate and Credentials Verification Process Coordinating with concerned agencies for seat allotment against State/UT – quota seats

To meet the expenses of CSAB-2015, CBSE will transfer 10% of application fee collected for conducting JEE Main-2015. The total amount shall be paid in a single installment to CSAB-2015 before the seat allocation process starts. On completion of the seat allocation process, CSAB-2015 shall submit the audited Utilization Certificates (UCs) to CBSE for settlement of outstanding UCs and a copy to the Ministry for records. The Scholarship scheme for meritorious students with JEE (Main) All India Rank (AIR) less than 2000 in engineering stream will continue in 2015 and will be administered by CSAB - 2015 for academic session 2015 - 2016.
