Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is in the process of training principals of all schools run by the Delhi government. The training programme will be conducted in phases of 50 principals each, for the 924 schools run by the Delhi government.
About the Training Programme
It is the first training programme for principals of Delhi Government School that began on April 30 and will continue for seven days. The Delhi government approached IIM-A to conduct the programme a year ago. A Professor Neharika Vohra, faculty of organizational behaviour at IIM-A said "We (IIM-A faculty and Delhi government) have been in discussion for over a year to plan and design the programme." She even confirmed that "Right now, 50 principals are participating in the first batch. All the will be covered in the training programme, which will continue for around one year. This is a one-week programme and will have 50 participants in each batch."
To make the training programme worthwhile, IIM-A faculty members visited five to seven schools in Delhi and conducted a focus group of 40 principals to find out more details about government schools.

In the month of November 2016, IIM-A participated into a unique initiative and organized an Open Day for the high school students on Sunday. In the event, more than 550 students hailing from class 9 to class 12 participated. The event also witnessed active participation from more than 30 teachers.
This event was conducted to encouraged the prospects of opportunities and possibilities that remain open for the school students. High school students gained various knowledgeable insights during ‘Talk over a Walk’ and they also got to learn about life at IIM-A.
