Opportunities of Promotion for SDM

Promotion is granted to officers recruited by BPSC through the Departmental Promotion Committee, which is headed by the Chairman of the Commission, in accordance with the rules framed by the State Government. The BPSC will consider the Officers for the first promotion after 8–9 years of the service and the Officers usually retire after one or at the most two promotions. Though the promotion is slower in comparison to the ones that the UPSC entrants get, yet the BPSC promote its Officers.
