Schools Directed not to Deny Admission to HIV Students :Delhi Directorate of Education

    The Delhi Directorate of Education have asked the Delhi schools not to deny admission to HIV positive students.

    And it has also been added that any educational institution denying so, will have to be ready for some strict action against them.

    Having said all this, it should be also noted that the order also stated that the identity of the HIV positive student should be kept under the wraps .

    The mentioned order was introduced following some extensive talks and advise from the State Department for Health and Family Welfare and Law and Justice Department. The direction post the order has been sent to all the heads of all government, private, recognized aided and un aided schools.

    According to the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, and Delhi Right to Education Rules, 2011, all the children including those from the disadvantage or differently-abled children have a right to free and compulsory education without any discrimination in the schools of Delhi.
