SNAP 2017 – Changes in Exam Pattern

Finally, coming to the SNAP 2017 MBA Entrance Exam and its pattern, the MBA Admission test has undergone massive transformation this year, moving from the conventional pen-paper based to being an online test. In line with this, the SNAP 2017 will be first time held in the MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) format.

While all the four test sections and test timing (2 hours) is going to be the same, the number of questions to be answered has gone down to 150 from 180 of last year. All questions (in all four sections) would carry equal weight of 1 mark with total marks being 150. The detailed exam format and pattern can be found in the table below:

    Section

    Questions

    Marks / Question

    Total Marks

General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability

    30

    Total

    150

    150

While the total time for answering entire 150 questions is 2 hours, SNAP Test organizers have not given any sectional time cut-off to the candidates. This means that candidates can choose the sections they want to attempt in any chronological order they prefer.

    Negative marking to continue

While the number of questions in SNAP 2017 has gone down, negative marking has been retained to make the test at par with other B-school entrance tests. Every wrong answer will draw a negative mark of 0.25 or one fourth negative marks. Therefore, candidates will have to be very careful while selecting the right number of questions to attempt.

These are just the few of the major changes that have been made the SNAP 2017 MBA entrance test. These changes although look quite minor on their own but are expected to have a big impact upon the MBA test preparation strategy and the final result of the students.
