For an International Student, such as myself, the streets and life in India can be almost viewed as an ENIGMA! India, famous for its potpourri of culture and colours not only fills an International Visitors heart with excitement but also injects in it fear and dread of the unknown.
Well, let me start off by talking about my journey- I reached the Delhi Airport from lands of Taipei in Taiwan to pursue an internship in Marketing from Graphic Era University situated in Dehradun, India- the reason for this choice of internship was actually quite simple. A friend from Canada had chosen the same internship in 2015 and had gotten a great experience learning various aspects of Digital Marketing and Marketing while at the same time meeting new people and taking away with him a million memories- that was all I needed to finalize Graphic Era University as my preferred internship destination.
But I digress, Delhi was crowded, noisy and alive- there were people and animals everywhere I turned my head. People screaming, shouting, giggling, laughing- so from this madness I started my onwards journey to Graphic Era University. Imagine my joy on seeing the welcoming portals of the University- all I could see as far as my eyes could decipher was green lush trees, birds chirping and students scattered round- some gently singing to some popular song, others busily bent over their wi-fi connected tablets watching some online lecture series and I at once felt at ease. I couldn’t wait for my learning to start…
And boy have I learnt! It has been merely 15 days since I have been interning and living at Graphic Era and I can’t recall having so many novel experiences in such a short span as Graphic Era has given me- I have several new friends, not only from India but from various other countries such as Brazil, Malawi, Nigeria, France and UK. And, what’s more, with the Universal Hues event just around the corner where the International Students of Graphic Era University I just can’t wait to showcase my culture to the students of Graphic Era University.
