The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced an increase in the number of vacancies for the Combined Civil Services Examination - IV (Group IV Services) to 8,932. Candidates can view the official notice on the TNPSC website at tnpsc.gov.in.
According to the announcement, the vacancy count has risen from 6,244 to 8,932. This includes an addition of 480 vacancies in September 2024 and another 2,208 in October. Below is the revised vacancy list:

The preliminary examination was conducted on July 9 at various centers across the state from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The exam comprised two sections: Part A (Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test) with 100 questions for 150 marks, and Part B (General Studies with 75 questions and Aptitude and Mental Ability Test with 25 questions) also for 150 marks. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 40% (60 marks) in Part A to have Part B evaluated.
The provisional answer key was released on June 18, 2024, and results for the preliminary exam are still pending. Candidates who pass the prelims will be eligible for the main examination, the date of which will be announced after the preliminary results are declared.
