• Katihar Medical College
  It is a premier medical institute in Bihar, which is open only for the local students of Bihar. The only course offered here is MBBS, which is a full time 5 and a half year course. It includes one year of internship. Students have to clear the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) and a merit list is prepared on the basis of the scores obtained in this exam.
• Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College
  Founded in 1990, it is affiliated to the Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University. The courses offered here include full time MBBS with 60 seats along with many other diploma courses in different medical disciplines. The college has been recognised by the Medical Council of India and the admission is done according to the BCECE results.
• Nalanda Medical College
  Nalanda Medical College is another of those Bihar medical colleges that require a domicile of Bihar. It offers MBBS and is affiliated to the Magadh University. It is approved by the MCI.
• Shri Krishna Medical College
  It is a government medical institute located in Muzaffarpur. Founded in 1970, it has been recognised by the Medical Council of India. With an aim to make higher education easily accessible to the underprivileged sections of the society, this college offers courses at affordable fee.
