The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the University Grants Commission (UGC) to preserve the answer sheets of the candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility Test (NET).
The Division Bench that comprise of Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A M Shaffique passed the order while considering a batch of petitions which were challenging the UGC’s decision to alter the pass percentage of the recently conducted NET.
Usually the UGC destroys the answer sheets soon after the result of the examination is out, however the Kerela HC this time has directed the Commission not to do so this time.
Apparently, soon after the conduct of the examination and immediately before the publication of the result, the UGC notified a change in the qualifying criteria and prescribed a minimum qualifying percentage.
