UGC Invited Proposals for the “INDO –US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative”

    The government of India and the United States of America launched a joint initiative ‘Singh Obama 21st Century Knowledge Initiative’ .

    The objective is initiate partnerships between educational institutions of both the countries in the field of higher education and research.

    Though many schemes have been devised to achieve this objective, , however one such scheme was to invite project proposals from institutions recognized under Section 12 B of the UGC Act 1956.

    The Commission has now announced an open competition for the “INDO –US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative” and invited proposals for the same in accordance  with the guidelines outlined.

    Initially the UGC had invited proposals from institutions in the month of December 2012 with the last date being 20 January 2013, however now the Commission has extended the time limit to 15 March 2013.
