UP Police Constable 2024 Exam Successfully Conducted: The UP Police Constable Exam 2024 was held on February 17th and 18th across four shifts. Approximately 2385 centers were designated for the exam, with around 48 lakh candidates appearing, including approximately 16 lakh women. The exam proceeded smoothly with no major reported disruptions. However, false interruptions were made on Telegram regarding paper leaks. The board tweeted against this misinformation, stating that anarchist elements were spreading rumours on social media using the edit feature of Telegram to defraud. The police and the board thoroughly investigated the source of these rumours. The examination is continuing safely and smoothly.

Here are some highlights of the exam based on available information:
- Large Number of Participants - A total of 48,17,441 candidates took part in the exam from various parts of the country. Out of this, more than 6 lakh candidates were from other states. This number of candidates is equivalent to the population of 110 countries worldwide, such as Singapore and New Zealand. The examination included 2,67,305 candidates from Bihar, 74,769 from Haryana, 17,112 from Jharkhand, 98,000 from Madhya Pradesh, 42,259 from Delhi, 97,277 from Rajasthan, 5,512 from West Bengal, 3,151 from Maharashtra, and 3,404 from Punjab.
- People Nabbed for Spreading Misinformation - On Sunday, officials arrested nine people from Firozabad's Shikohabad police station area. The Special Task Force (STF) detained three people from Prayagraj and Ballia, while 41 individuals from Purvanchal were apprehended, many of whom were linked to paper leak gangs or involved in exam replacements. Additional arrests were made in various areas, including 16 in Ballia, 17 in Ghazipur, six in Mau, and two in Varanasi. On Saturday, 41 arrests were made in Purvanchal. The police have also arrested one solver each in Kanpur and Chitrakoot. On the same day, three solvers and two candidates were detained in the Gorakhpur-Basti division. In Sant Kabir Nagar, two solvers were caught impersonating others, one from the Munger district of Bihar and the other from Sant Kabir Nagar, a girl who was impersonating her sister. Similarly, a solver from Bihar was caught appearing for the exam in the first shift of Siddharth College in Birdpur, Siddharthnagar.
- Type of Question Asked - Some questions were easy such as 'Taka in the exam' is the currency of which of the following countries?, GST, Founder of Khudai Khidmatgar, Great Barrier Reef, President of the Constituent Assembly, Kumarasambhavam, as well as questions related to Uttar Pradesh like State Tree of Uttar Pradesh, Bhadohi which is located in Uttar Pradesh, is famous for which of the following art?, Questions like what is the contact number for Women Power Line (WPL) in Uttar Pradesh?, Who is the highest ranking police officer among the districts of Uttar Pradesh?, Overall sex ratio of Uttar Pradesh state were asked.
- Sunny Leone Picture on Admit Card - Another report came when an applicant, 'Dharmendra Singh from UP's Mahoba', received his admit card with Sunny Leone’s image. According to the reports, the recruitment board said that no candidate on the particular registration number appeared in the exam and the image was uploaded while applying. The Cyber cell of Kannauj Police was investigating the case.
The difficulty level of the exam varied across shifts and subjects and most of the candidates found it easier than expected. In 2019, 49,568 constable posts were recruited in UP Police. The cutoff for the general category was 185.34, for OBC it was 172.32, for SC it was 145.39, and for ST it was 114.19. It is expected that this time too, the cutoff will remain around the same range.
