1. The final result of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2008 was declared vide Press Note dated 04.05.2009 recommending 791 candidates in order of merit for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ against 881 vacancies.
2. The Commission, in accordance with the Rule 16 (4) & (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules, was also maintaining a Consolidated Reserve List in order of merit below the last recommended candidate under the respective category. Subsequently, on receipt of a request from the Department of Personnel & Training, the Commission vide Press Note dated 03.09.2010 recommended 87 candidates.
3. The Department of Personnel & Training has, now, requested to provide 03 general category candidates from the Consolidated Reserve list maintained by the Commission to fill up the remaining posts based on the Civil Services Examination, 2008. The particulars of 03 general category candidates, in order of merit, from the consolidated reserve list who are being recommended are indicated below:

UPSC recommended Name of Three General Candidates to fill Vacant Positions
In compliance to the request of the Department of Personnel & Training, the UPSC has recommended the name of three general category candidates from the Consolidated Reserve list to fill up the remaining 3 posts based on the Civil Services Examination, 2008.
