UPTET 2016: Analysis of paper 1 and 2

We are providing you the analysis of UPTET 2016 question paper which was conducted on 2nd Feb 2016 by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board at the various centers of Uttar Pradesh.

As per the announced schedule, the Paper 2 of UPTET Exam, which is the minimum eligibility requirement to become government teacher (Class VI to VIII) in the UP government schools, was conducted today (10 am to 12:30 pm, Feb. 2, 2016) by UP Education Board. Hope, you have appeared for UPTET exam and have performed well. Now, it is the time to analyze the paper in detail.

The exam paper was as per the expectations and moderate. The pattern was almost similar to last year paper. There is no negative marking in this exam. The pattern of the exam can be tabulated as follows:

Child Development & Pedagogy: There were 30 Multiple choice questions of moderate level on this subject.

English: There were 30 questions in this part and sparingly, no passage based questions were there in this section. It seems that the level of toughness is slightly higher. The topics covered by the questions were antonyms/synonyms, correction of sentences, word phrases, direct indirect, grammatical corrections and pedagogy.

Hindi: Here also, there were 30 questions of moderate level. As far as the difference from last year’s question paper is the concern, there was no Passage in this part too.

Social Studies: The level of toughness is not too high. It was a good scoring opportunity here. Pedagogy was again the major part having 22 questions. One can summarize the pattern as follows:

Mathematics and science: There were 60 MCQs here of moderate level. Both mathematics and science parts were containing 30 questions each. As, the level is not too tough, it was a good opportunity for a science student to score well. A number of questions on pedagogy were also relatively less (10).

It was suggested a number of times that one should prepare pedagogy well to score more. The current analysis also proves it.
Overall, it was a moderate paper with mix easy, moderate and slightly tough multiple choice questions. We wish you all the best.
