A remarkable change is in the process with all Urdu medium schools under the Delhi government to be soon upgraded to class 12 in order to provide quality education in the same language.
The decision was taken very recently in a meet. The meeting was attended by Haroon Yusuf, minister of food supply and power, Diwan Chand, secretary of education, Amit Singla, director of education and the principals and teachers of Urdu Medium Schools.
One of the things that need to be reformed is the vacant posts of Urdu teachers.Education Minister Arvinder Singh stated that the Directorate of Education would employ Urdu teachers at priority. Apart from this, an Urdu language teacher will be appointed in every government school where Urdu students are admitted. The total number of Urdu schools is to shoot up to twenty two after a new school opens in Seelampur.
At present, the recruitment of guest teachers have already started. Schools will not only get good faculty soon, but will also avail better infrastructure facilities like proper school buildings and desks. It has also been decided to provide approximately two lakh 'ultra-modern' desks for government schools to solve the purpose.
