Vocational courses have been launched across forty schools in Haryana. This is the first time, that an initiative like this has been taken.
The inclusion of the vocational courses in schools is actually a ‘Pilot Project’ launched under the National Vocational Education Qualification Frame work by the Union HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal and Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh.
The Centrally sponsored Scheme for ‘Vocationalisation of Secondary Education’ under which this pilot has been initiated provides for financial support for both infrastructural and capacity building in schools to inter alia introduce vocational courses, recruit trained teachers, to partner with local industry to provide hands on training.
The launch is the outcome of multiple stakeholders, that includes NSDC, SSCs, PSSCIVE Bhopal, CBSE, the State Govt, the State Secondary Education Board, coming together to actively contribute and coordinate their efforts successfully.
