Western Railways issued notification inviting applications for recruitment to 14 posts (2 Group C posts and 12 Group D posts) against Scout & Guide quota for the year 2013-2014. Interested candidates should send their applications till 21 October 2013.

Scout & Guide Qualifications:
a. A President Scout / Guide / Rover / Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge OR Scouting Qualifications -- A Pre-Himalayan Wood Badge Holder Trained Scout Leader / Advanced Trained Guide / Leader / Captain.
b} Should have been an active member of Scout & Guide Organization for at least 3years in the recent past and should continue to be active.
c} Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two event at State level OR Should have a good record of participation in Scout & Guide activities at Unit / District Level.
Examination Fees: Non-refundable examination fees of Rs. 100 have to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft / Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of ‘Chief Cashier, Western Railway, Churchgate, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai for Group C posts / ‘Divisional Cashier, Western Railway” payable at HQ town of respective Division for Group D posts.
Candidates must mention their name, address at the back of the DD / in the space provided in the IPO.
(SC/ ST / Female/ Minority candidates and candidates belonging to Economically Backward Classes are exempted from payment of application fees.)
Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in Written test, assessment of Scout & Guide Qualifications and Interview.
Only short-listed eligible candidate will be called for Written Test. They will be informed about the test date, venue etc through Registered Post.
Candidates are required to bring their original documents / certificates & Uniform at the time of Written Test and Interview.
Selected candidates would be required to undergo medical examination as per the prescribed norms of different categories. Candidates found medically fit by the Trial Committee will only be considered for Recruitment.
Shortlisted eligible candidates will be required to stay at the trail venue for 2 to 3 days for the selection process at their own cost.
Appointed / finally selected candidates will be liable to serve anywhere on Western Railways.
How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates should send their completely filled in application form, in the prescribed format, along with attested copies of required certificates / documents to the concerned authority through ordinary post, so as to reach the concerned office by the prescribed last date.

Applications can also be dropped in the drop box kept at the HQ office / Division offices by the prescribed last date.
On the envelope, carrying the application, candidates should super-scribe in capital letters as ‘Application for Recruitment against Sports quota for the year 2013-2014’.
Candidates applying for both Group C and Group D posts should submit separate applications with separate fee DD / IPO for each post.
