A: If there are candidates for a particular post/group of posts have the same aggregate marks in both Tier I and Tier II Examinations, including the marks for Interview wherever applicable, then the tie will be resolved by the Commission by referring to the total marks of Tier II examination ie a candidate having more marks in Tier-II will be given preference. If the tie still persists then the total marks in Tier I examination will be referred to ie a candidate having more marks in this Examination will be given preference. This procedure will be followed by Date of Birth, ie, the candidate older in age will get preference. Lastly, if the tie still persists, the tie will be finally resolved by referring to the alphabetical order of names, ie, a candidate whose name begins with the letter which comes first in the alphabetical order will get preference.
