Wildlife Institute of India Notified Recruitment for 11 Various Posts for Research Personnel 2013

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) invited applications for A walk in interview to engage research personnel for  the following positions of Research Associate, Project Biologists, Project Sociologist, Senior Research Fellow/ Junior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellows (Indian national only).  The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research.

Walk-in-Interviews Date & Venue: 06 December, 2013 (Friday) from 09.00 A.M. onwards at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun.

Details of Posts

(A) Name of the Project: Execution of Implementation Plan - Kailash Sacred Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (KSLCDI).

     1. Name of the Post: Project Biologists

         No. of Positions: 02 (Two).

       2. Name of the Post: Project Sociologists

         No. of Positions: 01 (One).

Duration: Up to 31December.2013 (likely to be extended).

(B) Name of the Project: Monitoring land use by wildlife, livestock and humans in Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve.

      1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow.

(C) Name of the Project: Status and Habitat assessment of Bengal Florican Houbaropsis bengalensis in the grasslands of Uttar Pradesh.

      1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow.

      No. of Positions: 01 (One).

      Duration: Up to July 2014.

(D) Name of the Project: A study on the ecology and migration pattern of the Lesser Florican Sypheotides indica in  Western  India  using  satellite tracking techniques.

      1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow.

          No. of Positions: 01 (One).

          Duration: Up to 03 February 2016.

(E) Name of the Project: Long term monitoring of tigers, co-predators & prey species in Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve and adjoining landscapes, Maharashtra, India.

      1. Name of the Post: Senior Research Fellow/Junior Research Fellow.

          No. of Positions: 01 (One).

          Duration: Up to 03 April.2018.

(F) Name of the Project: Tracking the Great Indian Bustard (Ardeotis nigriceps) and mapping its potential habitat across the Deccan Landscape, Maharashtra India.

      1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow.

         No. of Positions: 01 (One).

         Duration: Two Years (likely to be extended).

(G) Name of the Project: Ecology and conservation of Himalayan wolf.

       1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow.

           No. of Positions: 01 (One).

           Duration: Up to 05 February 2017.


(H) Name of the Project: Ecology of the endangered Asiatic lions using satellite and GPS telemetry.

       1. Name of the Post: Research Associate.

           No. of Positions: 01 (One).

           Duration: Three Years.

(I) Name of the Project: A study of resource selection by Black Kites.

     1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow.

         No. of Positions: 01 (One).

         Duration: One Year.

Age Limit & Upper Age Relaxation:

• Age of the candidate shall not be more than 28 years for JRF/ Project Biologist/ Project Sociologist and 32 years for Senior Research Fellow as on Monday, 2nd December 2013. Upper age limit for SRF/ JRF/ Project Biologist/ Project Sociologist may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ Women and physically handicapped categories.
• Candidate for the position of Research Associate (RA) should be below 40 years of age as on Monday, 2nd December 2013 and the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories.

General Instructions:

• A candidate may be allowed to submit duly filled-in application form(s) for a maximum of two advertised positions subject to his/her fulfilling the essential qualifications for the advertised positions. Applications without enclosures and/ or incomplete in any respect shall be rejected.  
• Candidate(s) possessing Master’s Degree along with final year Mark-Sheet will only be eligible to appear for the walk-in-interview. Candidates appearing in the final year of Masters’ Degree Program will not be eligible to apply for the advertised positions.
• For the advertised position of Research Associate, candidate with a Ph.D. Degree will only be eligible to appear for the walk-in-interview.
• Selected candidate(s) will be engaged initially for a period mentioned against each advertised position. Subsequently his/ her tenure may be extended depending upon the exigencies of work at sole discretion of the Institute and satisfactory performance of the candidate.
• The registration for all advertised positions will be done from 09:00 to 10:00hrs.
• Canvassing in any form is liable to rejection of the candidature.
• Candidate(s) should bring the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, extra-curricular activities, date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of registration.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidate(s) will be based on Walk-in-Interview to be held on Friday, 6 December 2013 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun.
