Write ‘Dhai Akhar’ of Inspiration to Mahatma Gandhi on his Birth Anniversary
India Post, Ministry of Communications is organising Write ‘Dhai Akhar’ of Inspiration to Mahatma Gandhi on his Birth Anniversary, an All India Letter Writing Competition to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. The purpose of the competition is to write a letter to nation’s father on how he has inspired youngsters by the theme ‘Dear Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) you inspire me.’
Write a letter to nation’s father on his birth anniversary on how he has inspired you by the theme ‘Dear Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) you inspire me’ under the initiative of Dhai Akhar, an All India Letter Writing Competition organized by India Post, Ministry of Communications.
The competition is categorized under two levels, up to 18 years and above 18 years.
Last date to submit application is August 15, 2017. To check the eligibility and application procedures follow the proceedings:
The contest is open for all Indian nationals.
The prize winning letters will be featured in prominent newspapers and will be given honorary title of ‘Patron of Post’.
• 1st prize winner will receive INR 50,000
• 2nd prize winner will receive INR 25,000
• 3rd prize winner will receive INR 10,000
The circle level prize winners will be awarded with
• 1st prize winner will receive INR 25, 000
• 2nd prize winner will receive INR 10,000
• 3rd prize winner will receive INR 5000
Letters are to be posted in specially designated post boxes with “letter writing campaign” written on them, and are to be addressed to Chief Postmaster General of the respective circles in district headquarters for applicants of larger towns or cities.
Rural entrants can post the same to block officer who further will dispatch to respective account office (HO/SO) for further dispatch to concerned circle office.
The letters are to be written in A4 size paper and must not be more than 1000 words or in an inland letter card of not more than 500 words.
For more than 150 years, the Department of Posts (DoP) has been the backbone of the country’s communication and has played a crucial role in the country’s social economic development.
