In the times of mergers and acquisitions, yet another corporate giant has clubbed itself with an education institute. Yahoo! India Research and Development has entered into an agreement with IIT, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, to help the students and faculty in cloud computing research.
Yahoo took a step further by setting up a grid computing lab in the IIT campus, consisting of open source Hadoop software, which will enable and help them to conduct research on big data’s and cloud computing systems.
The partnership looks apparently beneficial to both the parties. With the new change, not only will the work get faster and sorted, but the areas of improvement in India shall majorly benefit from the change.
The lab, was built at a whopping amount of Rs.50 lakh and will be accessible to students who have cloud computing courses and doctoral candidates.
The teachers are looking forward to the new development and understand that the technique would be useful in teaching students cloud concepts, and also helping post graduate students with their research.
