PM Modi through a tweet said, "The Summit is a unique opportunity for bringing together entrepreneurs and start-ups with a global leader.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 August 2017 said that India and US will co-host the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Hyderabad from 28 to 30 November 2017.
In a series of tweets, Modi said, the Summit is a unique opportunity for bringing together entrepreneurs and start ups with the global leader.
The Prime Minister said he is looking forward to the presence of Ivanka Trump at Global Entrepreneurship Summit as the leader of the US delegation.
Ivanka Trump is the daughter of US President Donald Trump. Modi during his meeting with Trump in Washington in June 2017 had invited Ivanka for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
In the reply to Modi’s tweet, Ivanka tweeted, “Honored to lead the US delegation to #GES2017 in India & meet with Prime Minister Modi & passionate entrepreneurs from around the globe!”
Later, his father Donald Trump also tweeted, “.@IvankaTrump will lead the U.S. delegation to India this fall, supporting women’s entrepreneurship globally.”
The three-day summit which was earlier hosted by the US State Department aims at connecting American entrepreneurs and investors to their international counterparts to form lasting relationships.
According to the State Department's website, the summit seeks to create new opportunities for investment, partnership and collaboration around the world.
The website says, “The summit typically includes a wide range of workshops, panels, ignite talks, pitch competitions, mentoring, and networking sessions aimed to give participants tailored opportunities to gain skill and relationships that will help their ventures grow. There are also demonstration areas and experiential learning exhibitions to create opportunities for participants to connect with industry experts.”
The event is being organised by the NITI Aayog in coordination with Ministry of External Affairs.
