The race for the world's best airport came to a halt with the announcement by Skytrax. Skytrax is a UK-based airline which surveys travellers annually all around the world to compile its list of the best airports in the world. This year, Qatar’s airport is crowned because of its ultra-modern design, easy-to-navigate terminals and high-end shopping.
This year, the title has switched to 12-time winner Singapore. Asia's best-performing airport was Seoul Incheon, which came in third and was also named the most family-friendly airport for 2024. Haneda and Narita in Tokyo came in fourth and fifth.
List of World's 10 Best Airports in 2024
The first global airport customer satisfaction survey was introduced by Skytrax in 1999, marking the start of the World Airport Awards. They are regarded as a quality benchmark for the world airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities across over 500 airports.
The World's Top 10 Airports of 2024 were voted on by customers from across the world in the 2023–2024 World Airport Survey.

With its most recent victory coming in 2022, Hamad International has a long history of success, having previously won the title twice. CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer expressed his happiness that this year's award fell on the same day as the airport celebrated its historic tenth year of operation.
He further added, "This year, HIA celebrates its milestone 10th year of operations, and we are truly honoured that passengers have voted us the best airport in the world for a third time. Skytrax's prestigious awards reflect the dedication of our employees, who every day help innovate and maintain our leading position."
Only four airports from India made it to the top of the Skytrax list. Mumbai Airport fell to 95th place from 84th place last year, while Delhi Airport maintained its 36th place ranking. Bengaluru airport moved up ten spots to 59 from 69 the previous year, while Hyderabad airport moved up to 61st from 65th in 2023.
