The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and its associate institutions are known as the World Bank Group. The IBRD along with IMF was established in December 1945. That is the reason that IMF and IBRD are known as the complementary institutions and Bretton woods Twins.
The World Bank Group is consists of the five institutions namely;
1. The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)-Established in Dec. 1945
2. International Finance Corporation (IFC):- Established in July 1956
3. International Development Association (IDA):- Established in Sept. 1960
4. International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID):- Established in Oct. 1966
5. Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA):- Established in April 1988
It is interesting to know that each institution of the World Bank Group has different number of members. As IBRD have 189 members currently.
Here it is interesting to know that all the Presidents of the World Bank Group have always been American because the USA is the largest shareholder in the World Bank Group.
However the nominee by the USA is subject to confirmation by the Board of Executive Directors. The President of the World Bank Group is nominated for 5 year terms and can be re-elected on the post.

Jim Yong Kim is the 12th President of the World Bank Group. Jim Kim assumed his office in July 2012. In September 2016, the World Bank Group Board unanimously reappointed Jim Kim for a second 5 year term as President of this group.
