BIEAP 2025 Board Exams: The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) says, the inter-first-year exam will be conducted internally by the junior colleges.

BIEAP Board Exams 2025: The Board Of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, (BIEAP) has suggested some changes to reduce exam stress for school students. The board has proposed to remove public exams for 1st-year intermediate (Class 11) and only conduct 2nd-year exams (Class 12), similar to CBSE and other state boards that don’t have Class 11 board exams.

The board explained that most of the colleges and universities look for class 12th mark sheets for admission. Class 11th results do not have any role in the admissions. These changes are suggested by students, teachers and other professional experts.

The BIE AP stated that the AP Inter syllabus hasn't been updated in the past few years, so they plan to revise the syllabus and textbooks. To work on this, 14 committees have been set up to create a new syllabus.

The board has also proposed making the second language an elective subject and also adding an extra subject to give students more choices.

These changes also include one-mark multiple-choice questions (MCQs), fill-in-the-blanks, and one-word answers in board exams. Essay-type questions will carry fewer marks, reduced from eight to five or six.

These changes have been made to reduce the exam stress for the students. By reducing the exam pressure, students are more likely to focus on building a strong foundation in the 1st year, which is important for advanced topics in the 2nd year. This will also help students perform better in competitive exams like JEE and NEET.

BIEAP has announced that 1st-year intermediate exams will be conducted internally by junior colleges, following the syllabus and guidelines provided by BIE. The 2nd-year board exams will be organised by BIE, based on the 2nd-year syllabus.
