Gujarat Board Exam 2025: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has revised the exam format for class 9 and class 11 students, effective from the 2024-2025 academic year. This change aims to align the exam structure with those of the class 10 and class 12 board exams, providing students with a smooth transition.
Revised Paper Structure: 70% Descriptive, 30% Objective
The new exam structure will consist of 70% descriptive questions and 30% objective questions. This increases the objective questions from 20%-30%, while the descriptive section is now reduced to 70%. Previously, students could choose between two questions, the new format will offer five options, and students can attempt any two or three.
Uniform Structure Across All Streams
The revised pattern will be applied across all streams—science, commerce, and general education. The updated syllabus and sample questions paper for core subjects in class 11 are already available, reflecting the new exam format.
Exemptions for Certain Subjects
Some subjects in class 9 and class 11 will continue with the old exams format. These include subjects like computer studies, music, yoga, health and physical education, and others.
The new exam pattern aims to to standardize and simplify the exam structure, reducing student stress and offering a consistent experience across different grades. As the 2024-2025 academic year begins, both students and teachers will need to adjust to the updated system.
