ICSI CS December Exam 2020: As per the latest update, the Institute of Company Secretaries in India (ICSI) has formally introduced OPT-OUT facility for the ICSI CS December 2020 exam keeping in mind the pandemic situation. Candidates can apply to opt out of December Attempt of ICSI CS Exam 2020 and decide to carry forward their attempt to June 2021 exam cycle. To confirm the development, the Institute has released an official notification on its website and also tweeted it from their official account.

Opt Out Scheme for December Attempt

As per the notification, the ICSI CS Exam 2020 Opt Out Option has been provided to aspirants, who want to skip the December attempt of the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Such students can choose to carry forward their attempt and candidature to the June 2021 exam cycle. The notification also states that ICSI CS exam 2021 for the June session will commence on 1^st June 2021.

Who is Eligible for Opt Out Scheme?

As per the details shared by the exam authority, all students who are affected by COVID-19 are eligible to avail the one-time option of Opt Out from the December 2020 attempt. The notification states that if a student or their immediate family member gets infected by Coronavirus between 20^th November to 30^th November 2020, they will be eligible to avail the opt out scheme. To avail the option, candidates will be required to submit a COVID-19 positive report as evidence.

How to register for ICSI December Exam 2020 Opt Out Scheme?

To help candidates complete the formalities and application process, the institute has published the form for Opt Out scheme on its website i.e. icsi.edu. Students who want to avail the opt out scheme need to fill the online application form and make a formal request to opt out of the examination. The deadline to submit applications for the same is 14^th January 2021.

On receipt of the online form, the candidature of the student for CS December 2020 exam will be cancelled and carried forward to June 2021 session. The examination fee credit will also be carried forward to the June session.

Candidates should note that any application that is received without a valid COVID-19 positive report for themselves or their immediate relatives, will be rejected by the institute. This is a one-time facility being provided due to the Covid 19 impact in the country.
