Karnataka CET 2020 postponed until further notice due to COVID-19 outbreak

The Karnataka CET 2020 examinations have been postponed by the department due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Karnataka CET 2020 examinations have been postponed by the department due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Dr. Ashwathnarayan CN, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Higher Education, IT and BT, Science and Technology, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood said that the new dates for the Karnataka CET 2020 will be released by the third week of April 2020. 

The Karnataka Examination Authority which conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test was to conduct the examination on April 22, 23 and 24, 020 while the registrations for the examinations were to be open until March 16, 2020. 

The minister said that the Pre-University examinations (Plus 2) are midway in the state which could not be completed due to the spread of Coronavirus in the different states which was followed by a national lockdown. He tweeted stating that the Entrance Test for the Professional courses to be conducted on April 22, 23 and 24, 220 have been postponed indefinitely. The admit card of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2020 was to be available online on April 10, 2020. 

The Karnataka Examination Authority conducts the Karnataka CT for the admission to the first-year engineering, Technology, Naturopathy, Yoga, B.Pharm, 2nd-year B.Pharm, Pharm. D, Agriculture courses and Veterinary courses in the different, government, private, professional educational institutions in Karnataka. 

The 21-day national lockdown was announced by the government in the wake of the COVID-19 spread in the country. All the schools and colleges have been shut due to the spread of the virus in the country while all the employees have been given work from home in order to complete the work in the time of the lockdown. Examinations both board and otherwise have also been postponed by the respective authorities until the lockdown situation comes to normalcy.
